She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Cleveland and Minnie Griffin Dail; her husband Perlie C. Ashley; and her siblings, Marvin, Raymond, Robert Dail, Virginia Dail Mangus and Evelyn Dail Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Gene Ashley (Gail) of San Antonio, TX, Jimmy D. Ashley (Carolyn) of Edenton, Jack L. Ashley (Susan) of Morehead City and Linda J. Ashley of Edenton; her brother Asa B. Dail (Beverly) of New Bern; her grandchildren, Donna Ashley Rose, Jimmy D. Ashley, Jr. (Stacy), Jill Ashley Castro (Greg), Greg Ashley, Michael "Ike" Overton, Jr. and Elizabeth J. "Beth" Gonzalez (Chris); and her great grandchildren, Luke, Lindsey Baughman, Hunter, Mason, Trent, Emerald Ashley, Madison, Olivia, Sophie, Naomi Castro, Taylor Overton, Christopher and Ian Gonzalez.
