She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Welch and Linnie Hudson Welch; her husband Carl Motley; and her siblings, Louette Mims, Eardie Anderson, Lloyd, Archie, Gary and Morris Welch.
She is survived by: her son David Motley of Raleigh; and her siblings, Ethel Spann of Camden, SC, Daisy Lee Holmes of Harlem, NY and Oliver Welch of Hertford. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
