She was predeceased by: her parent John Henry Asbell, Sr.; her husband William Thomas Elliott, Jr.; her brother John H. Asbell, Jr.; and her son-in-law Mike Deems. She is survived by: her parent Bertie Cobb Asbell; her children, Diane Deems (Doug Brickhouse) of Hertford, Cindy Elliott (Phil Long) of Edenton and William T. "Bill" Elliott, III (LouAnn) of Edenton; her granddaughters, Beth McCrodden (Craig) and Sara Jones (Dustin); her great grandchildren, Peyton, Hudson and Weston; her niece Katherine Ann Keel; her nephew Ricky Asbell; and her cousin Joan Boswell.
