He was predeceased by: his parent Carey Yates, Sr.; his wife Elizabeth Ann Parrish; his siblings, Katherine Mae Parrish, Ralph E. and Frank E. Parrish; and his grandson George Hoskins Parrish.
He is survived by: his parent Beulah Moore Parrish; his children, Patricia White (Jim) of Chapel Hill, Jerry Parrish (Dorothy) of Edenton, Frankie Parrish (Amby) of Edenton, Carroll Parrish (Anne) of Edenton and Mike Parrish (Laurie) of Edenton; his brother Yates Parrish, Jr. of Edenton; and his grandchildren, Wayne Parrish (Amy), Robert Parrish (Tanya), Chris Parrish (Mariel), Karen Pruden (Chip), Jim Parrish (Chrystal), Grey Tipton (John), Emory White (Abby), Elizabeth Vallero (Dan), Richard Parrish (Liddy), Rebecca King (Chris), Dan Parrish (Dominique), Ginny Mabry (Joseph), Mandy Overman, Katie Milligan (Josh) and Gibson Palmes (Robert).
