He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ward Harrell; his sons, Chris Harrell and Shane Harrell (Taylor); his grandson Colt McCoy Harrell of Edenton; his sister Rachel H. Spruill (Tim) of Columbia; his sister-in-law Nancy Burgess Harrell of Edenton; and his stepsiblings, Wanda Clayton (Ken) of Willow Spring and Warren Thomas of Oxford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
