With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lois McCarty Spruill of Edenton, North Carolina, born in Portsmouth, Virginia, who passed away on October 30, 2020 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Constantine Ambrose McCarty, Sr. and Thelma Owens McCarty; her son-in-law Rocky Cooke; and her brother Constantine A. McCarty, Jr. (Helen). She is survived by: her husband Ivan Linwood Spruill, Sr.; her children, Ivan L. Spruill, Jr. (Susan) of Smithfield, Catherine M. Melton of Edenton, Paula A. Cooke of Edenton and Joseph P. Spruill (Connie) of Zebulon; and her brother Joseph McCarty (Loretta) of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any chapter of the American Heart Association.
