She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Small, Sr. and Mamie Chesson Small; her husband Elbert Franklin "Frankie" Pierce, Sr.; and her brother Thomas Small, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Elbert F. "Frankie" Pierce, Jr. (Tracy) of Elizabeth City and Jeffery A. Pierce (Traci) of Edenton; and her grandchildren, Jordan (John Long), Lexi, Joshua and Alyssa.
