She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard Cole and Marjorie Koonce Cole; and her brother John Cole. She is survived by: her husband George E. Nixon, Jr.; her stepson Eric Nixon (Sharon); her son Aiden Blake Nixon of Edenton; her brothers, Bill Cole (Faye) of Raleigh and Mike Cole (Lauren) of Whiteville; her nieces, Emily and Reneé; and her nephew Walter.
