He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Workman Tate and Robert Henry Tate; and his siblings, Lettie Allison, Mary Belle Poole, Annie Laurie Bowman, Nellie Gentry, Hal Tate, Buck Tate, Billy Tate, Hazel Hargis, Lillian Oakley, Patsy Jolly, Frankie Moore and Herman Tate.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Rogers Tate; his grandchildren, Ginnie Tate-Dimick (Quint Dimick), Jan Mallory Tate, Allison Louise Tate (Pascal Werner), Frances Tate Rigdon (Shawn Rigdon), Gerald Tyson Bray (Kimberly Taylor Bray), Rebecca Lillie Bray and Thomas Martiny Bray; and his great grandchildren, Holliday Tate Dimick and Maggie Bray. He is also survived by his three children and their spouses.
