He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Leon, Sr. and Maggie Margaret Rhmes Lacy; his son James M. Lacy, Jr.; and his sisters, Violet, Evelyn and Margie.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Jennings Lacy; and his stepchildren, Carol, Eddie (Linda), Joey (Kim), Tonji and Debbie.
