She is survived by: her mother Mary Virginia Gibbs Midgett; her husband William Sherman Vann; her daughters, Melisa Wheelbarger (Jason), April Manlangit, Jessica Vann Goupil (Alan), Chelsey Vann (Francisco), Ariel Vann and Carmen Vann; her siblings, Michelle Phelps (Steven), Amy Mason (Adam) and Joseph Phelps; her grandchildren, Jasmyne, Xavier, Aniyah, Alana, Alan, Jr., Parker, Hope, Jase, Sara, Tristan, Santino, Ella, Damon, Jazary and Clay; and her nephews, Joshua Phelps and Shane Southerland. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27909). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
