It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Linda J. Forbes of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, who passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Linda departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Linda. Though Linda may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Bernard Jilcott and Elizabeth Klemz Jilcott; and her brother Charles B. Jilcott, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Carlton W. Forbes; her sons, Marc Forbes (Eun Ji) of Berlin, MD and Eric Forbes (Alicha) of Fruitland, MD; her siblings, Cynthia "Cindy" Ireland of Ahoskie, NC and Steven Jilcott (Jewel) of Eure, NC; and her grandson Benjamin Forbes.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27909). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 31st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
