We are sad to announce that on June 16, 2025, at the age of 91, Mary Evelyn Markham of Elizabeth City, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Tarkington and Sybil Bernard Tarkington; her husband Thomas A. Markham; her sons, Thomas A. Markham Jr. and Marvin E. Markham; her siblings, Ann Swain and Thomas W. Tarkington; and her granddaughter Amy Heath.
She is survived by: her daughters, Louise M. Taylor (Gene) of Garysburg, NC, Brenda M. Schachle (Keith) of Jasper, GA and Karen M. Askew (Tim) of Elizabeth City, NC; her sister Frauline Winslow; her daughter-in-law Linda Markham; her grandchildren, Ron Pippen (Sherry), Wendy Gatewood (Chris), Jason Markham (Cindy), Blair Markham (Maggie), Heather Markham, Lori Schachle, Kevin Schachle, Christie Heath (Jason) and Daniel Askew (Ashley); her great grandchildren, Andrew, Ronald, Ryan, Tripp, Thomas, Aron, Kayla, Addi, Riley, Rory, Hill and Bayler; and her great great grandchild R. J..
