She is survived by: her husband John Dewey Umphlett; her children, Candy Hewitt (Johnny) of Woodville, NC and Randy Umphlett (Nikki) of Elizabeth City, NC; her sisters, Ruth Smithson and Eleanor Strahan; her grandchildren, McKenzie, Matthew, Chloe, Carter, Grace, Brian and Amber; and her great grandchild Charlie. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27909). A reception will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
