He is survived by: his wife Melissa Adamson Shotwell; his children, Aubrey Olkowski (Joe) of Tyner, NC, Cailtin Shotwell of Hertford, NC, Courtney Fyffe (Zach) of Elizabeth City, NC, Lydia Shotwell of Avenue, MD and Warren D. Shotwell, Jr. of Avenue, MD; his siblings, Jackie Lathroum (Ricky) of Mechanicsville, MD, Gail Thompson of Hollywood, MD, Dana Taylor (John) of Mechanicsville, MD, Wayne Shotwell (Ruth Ann) of Chaptico, MD and Glenn Shotwell (Susie) of Bushwood, MD; his grandchildren, Skylar, Mary, Connor, Josie and David; his close friend Kurt Marchant; and his pets, Annie, Ruby, Cobra and Dobby. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and numerous close friends.
