It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carlie Mounce of Elkin, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on June 3, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmel Vance Mounce and Alma Hardy Mounce; and his sister Senia Mounce Hall. He is survived by: his wife Rita Bringar Mounce; his daughter Tonya; his son-in-law Nick Butler; his son Jeff Mounce; his grandchildren, Wesley Mounce, William Mounce, Bethany Butler, Breanna Butler, Brett Butler and Brittany Butler; his sister Lorene; and his brother-in-law Don Newman.
