He was predeceased by: his parents, Jarvie Johnson and Mertle Mathis Johnson; his wife Louella McCann Johnson; and his siblings, Jay Johnson, Eloise Billings, Louise Prevette, Lorene Johnson and Jean Byrd.
He is survived by: his siblings, Dean Johnson of Wilkesboro, Archie Johnson of Hamptonville, Jereline Johnson of Elkin, Kathleen Jones of Dobson, Brenda Davidson of Dobson and Kaleb Couch. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
