He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Lee and Vallie Sparks Howell; his brother Jack; his sister-in-law Claris Howell; and his niece Debbie Howell Waddell.

He is survived by: his wife Priscilla R. Howell; his daughters, Susan Lyon (Steven) of Thurmond and Peggy Grose (Carl) of Statesville; his sisters, Brenda Howell of Ronda, Linda Parks of Ronda and Mary Bell Caudle of Ennis; his grandchildren, Jason Grose, Travis Grose (Melanie), Chris Lyon (Toni) and Zack Lyon; and his great grandchildren, Ryker Lyon, Christopher Meade and Brianna Meade.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Dr., Elkin, NC 28621.
