It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rachel Joyce Scott Owens of Elm City, North Carolina, who passed away on September 20, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her son Julian F. Shaw; and her brother Michael Scott. She is survived by : her husband Charles; her daughter Geneva S. Best of Wilson; her stepsons, Charles A. Owens (Belinda) of Winfall and Dale Owens (Kim) of Eure; her brothers, Richard Scott (Liz) and Billy Scott; her grandchildren, Brenda Poythress of Wilson, Laura Best of Wilson and Matthew Young of Fredericksburg; and her great grandchildren, Jaylen Lewin, Rylee Lewin and Vivian Bass. She is also survived by step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
