He was predeceased by: his parents, Seth Wesley and Dorothy Maxine Brown Strickland; and his brother John Wesley Strickland. He is survived by: his son Douglas Seth Strickland (Jacqueline); his siblings, Roger W. Strickland (Lisa) of Fair Bluff, Patricia "Pat" Jolly (Jim) of Tabor City and Veronica Strickland Soles (Reggie) of Whiteville; his grandchildren, Douglas Strickland, Jr., Dylan Tripett, Brandon Strickland and Marissa Hope Bailey; and his great grandchild Shirley Strickland.
