He was predeceased by : his parents, Durwood Worthington and Moye Worthington. He is survived by : his wife Jessie Ellis Worthington; his sister Sue Taylor (Vance) of Greenville; his nieces, Leigh Powers (Jonathan) and Mary Marshall Greene (Talbot); his great-niece Forbes Greene; his great-nephews, Drew Greene and Jonathan Powers; his brother-in-law Rev. Jim Ellis; his aunt Polly Gilliam; and his cousin Tyler Durham. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel (4226 E Church St, Farmville, NC 27828).

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Christ Church at Old Sparta.
