She was predeceased by: her parents, Williams Melton and Mary Barrett Melton. She is survived by: her children, Tony Gorham of Farmville, NC and Brenda Barrett; and her siblings, Bobby Lee Melton of Greenville, NC, James Earl Melton of Greenville, NC, Randle Melton of Fountain, NC, Ora Bell Parker of Wilson, NC, Dorothy Pettaway of Greenville, NC, Christine Powell of Farmville, NC and Margie Tripp of Farmville, NC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
