She was predeceased by: her parents, Golden Leslie Carter and Lucille Groves Carter; her husband Bruce K. Vaughn Jr.; her daughter Tonis Bullard; her grandparents, Gold Carter and Thelma Smith Carter; and her brothers, Clester Carter and Eartle B. Carter.
She is survived by: her sons, Tom Cain (Monalyn) of Hope Mills and Timothy Cain (Elizabeth) of Leland; her brothers, Dorsey Carter of Red Springs and Leslie Gene Carter of Fayetteville; her children, Cecil, Carter and Whitney Bullard; her grandchildren, Danny (Angela), Travis, Vanceston "Turtle" (Savannah), Titus (Kendle), TJ, Kohl, Jackson and Joshua; and her great grandchildren, Kennedy, Damian, Rowan, Cecil, Carter, Axle and Delia.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (812 S Main St, Red Springs, NC 28377). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
