With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Anna Yvonne Fairchild of Fleetwood, North Carolina, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Day and Ella Mae Miller Day; her husband Ralph Thomas Fairchild; her brothers, Buddy Day and Quinton Day; and her son-in-law Gary Cody.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Day of Fleetwood and David Fairchild (Judy) of Fleetwood; her grandchildren, Jason Fairchild (Tonya) of Fleetwood, Brian Fairchild (Amanda) of Georgia, Lisa Wilcox (Matt) of Hudson and Anna Spencer (Travis) of Boone; and her great grandchildren, Daniel Fairchild, Andrew Fairchild, Drew Wilcox, Abby Spencer, Connor Spencer, Wyatt Spencer and Henry Spencer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Boone Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services (2005 Mt Jefferson Rd, West Jefferson, NC 28694). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Gap Creek Cemetery Fund or Medi Home Hospice, 400 Shadowline Drive, Unit 101, Boone, NC 28607.
