She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard "Slim" Hawkins and Frances Hawkins Roberts; and her siblings, Larry Hawkins, Janet Hamrick and Darrell Roberts.
She is survived by: her children, David Emory, Jr. of Forest City and Debra Emory Conner (Brian) of Rutherfordton; her brother Reggie Ferland (Mariam) of Georgia; her grandchildren, Brandon Emory (Amber), Kaila Edwards (Caleb), Amber Lail (Josh) and Aubrey Emory; her sibling's children, Regina Rachel, Rebecca and Shane; and her pet Smokey. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
