He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Earl Sturgill and Pearl Donnells Sturgill; and his siblings, Eugene Sturgill, Dewey Sturgill, Jr., Jeanette Sturgill, Dolly Sturgill, Stella Beverly, Mable Sturgill, Barbara Sturgill and Fran Sturgill.
He is survived by: his children, William Lee Sturgill (Laura) of Wise, Virginia, Justin Cole of Forest City, Holli Rogers (Cruise Hampton) of Sandy Mush, Brandie Cole of Forest City, Hailey Sturgill (Vincent) of Ellenboro, Caleb Sturgill of Ellenboro and Chelsea Sturgill (Chris) of Ellenboro; his siblings, Rufus Ray Sturgill (Ann) of Wise, VA, Jeff Sturgill (Lisa) of Cherryville, NC, Randy Sturgill (Kathy) of Wise, VA, Rose Navey (Larry Lovelace) of Cherryville, NC and Roberta Gardner (Billy) of Cherryville, NC; the mother of his children Vicki Sturgill of Ellenboro; and his pet Annie Oakley. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, forty-eight nieces and nephews, a host of extended family.
