We bid farewell to Willie Jean Brinkley Massengill of Four Oaks, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 14, 2025 at the age of 81. Willie Jean Brinkley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Thelton Brinkley and Maudie Katie Eason Grimsley; her husband Cecil Maurice Massengill; and her siblings, J. R. Brinkley, Jasper Brinkley, Barbee Brinkley and Rudean Senter.
She is survived by: her sons, Gordon D. Massengill of Wilmington and Jimmie M. Massengill (Audrey) of Four Oaks; her grandchildren, Brittaney N. Bullins (Charly) of Virginia Beach, Kathleen V. Matthews (Marchie) of Dunn, Jimmie M. Massengill, Jr. and Skye Stewart of Four Oaks; her sons, Alexis O. Massengill and Zack Beasley of Currituck, NC; and her sisters, Elsie Benson of Clayton and Helen Worley of Chapel Hill. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Inc. (301 W Main St, Benson, NC 27504). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
