She was predeceased by : her parent Ben "Pop"; her son Denver Edward Brooks; and her siblings, Virgie Loftis, Frankie Speed, Lexie Edge, Millard Nations and Arvil Nations.

She is survived by : her parent Martha "Mom" Phillips Nations; her children, Peggy Earlene Nations (John) of Franklin, Cecil Brooks (Wilda) of Franklin, Winfred Brooks (May) of Bryson City and Edith Brooks; and her siblings, Barbara Ledford of Easley, SC, Earl Nations of Clyde and Lon Nations of Montana. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 19 great‑grandchildren.
