He was predeceased by: his son Brandon. He is survived by: his son Brantley (Connie); his wife Connie; his granddaughters, Kaitlynn and Taylor; his brothers, Russell Barnes and Edward Barnes; his sister-in-law Karyl Sullivan (Frank); and his daughter-in-law Betsy Barnes Childress.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Angel Fund, First United Methodist Church, 402 N. Main St. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
