She was predeceased by: her parents, Orving Vernon Smith and Louise Ramey Smith; her son Daniel Golden; her sisters, Nova Powers and Hedy Kuemmel; and her nephews, Trey and Michael Pridgen.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Gong (Steve) of Angier and Eugene Golden (Jean) of Fuquay-Varina; and her sisters, Shelly Hayes (Jimmy) of Eustis and Serena Puricelli of Orlando, Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Underwood Funeral Home (522 S Brightleaf Blvd, Smithfield, NC 27577). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery.
