She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Douglas and Gladys Crudup Horton; her husband Deacon Captain William H. Thorpe; her siblings, Jacob F. Horton, Sr., Matrice Bullock and Deaconess Erdyne Yates; and her grandson Antonio Thorpe.
She is survived by: her sons, Charles L. Thorpe (Gail) of Wendell, NC and Wilfred C. Thorpe (Angela) of Clayton, NC; her grandchildren, Dameko, Brian, Beverly Thorpe, Teresa Ferrell, Kara and Abram Brooks; and her niece Mary Graham. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins.
