With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Max Edward Ashworth Sr. of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, who passed away on September 11, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Ashworth and Cornelia Ashworth; and his siblings, Evelyn A. Smith, Frances A. Senter, Thomas R. Ashworth, W. D. "Skinny" Ashworth, Charles T. Ashworth and Jimmy B. Ashworth.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Callis Ashworth; his children, Faye Cress (Danny) of Fuquay-Varina, Max Edward Ashworth, Jr. (Metra) of Wilmington, Lisa Ashworth of Fuquay-Varina and Allison Brady (John) of Waxhaw; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Edward Cress (Jade) of Asheville, Jessica Cress of California, Max Edward Ashworth III (Heather) of Wilmington, Metra Claire Ashworth of Denver and Hannah Ruth Brady of Waxhaw; his great grandchildren, Max Edward "Ward" Ashworth IV and Parham Ruth Ashworth; his siblings, Ralph H. Ashworth and Mollie A. Stephenson; and his sister-in-law Ida J. Ashworth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
