With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shelby Jean Ward Goodman (Fuquay Varina, North Carolina), who passed away on July 24, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Malcolm; and her parents, Fred Ira Ward and Mary Moore of Rockingham, NC.. She is survived by: her children, Eddie Goodman (Penny) of Willow Spring, NC and Amy Jaeger (Jeff) of Fuquay-Varina, NC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (10005 Lake Wheeler Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (10005 Lake Wheeler Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Keep Shelby 's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
