She was predeceased by: her parents, James Donald Clevenger and Margaret Alene Fine Clevenger; her siblings, Gloria McDonald, Linda Eckard, Quindell Lee Clevenger and Cynthia Denise Clevenger; and the father of her children John Wayne Whitworth, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, John Wayne Whitworth, Jr., Rhonda Jones (Steve), Suzanne Patterson (Yancey), Samuel Whitworth (Adrianna), Rachael Gantt (Todd) and Joy Godwin (Phillip); her grandchildren, Anna Sepulveda, Whitney Varnadore, Brent Hunt, Joshua Whitworth, Wayne Baumgarner, Jr., Brandon Gantt (Kaitlynn), Samantha Dixon (Ethan), Daniel Whitworth (Cristin) and Abby Godwin; her stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Jessie, Whitney Patterson, Santiago and Mariana Quintero; her sister Barbara Ann Moore; and her grandson Ryan Godwin. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation (2916 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at the Gaston Memorial Park (2205 Williamsburg Dr, Gastonia, NC 28054).
