He was predeceased by: his parents, Livie Lindsay Foy and Willie Maude Hanna Foy; his wife Nell Wilson Foy; his sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Clark, Polly Withers, Betty Cloninger and Mary Frances Foy; and his brother-in-law Harold "Clem" Colston.
He is survived by: his daughter Jane Foy Painter (Phil); his grandchildren, Samuel Foy Painter (Eryn), Kathryn Painter Neinast (William) and Joseph Thomas Painter (Neely); his great grandchildren, Alice, J. T. Painter, Olivia and Virginia Neinast; his siblings, Harvey Foy (Betty), Helen Littlejohn (Richard) and Patricia Carver (Vernon); and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Colston and Pete Clark. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pisgah Arp Church Cemetery (3600 Linwood Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052).
