It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Henry Heath Massey Jr. of Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Massey and Henry Massey. He is survived by: his wife Emily Kate Sapp of Lancaster, SC; his children, Cynthia Massey Gass (Henry), Henry Heath Massey III (John), James Allen Massey (Suzy) and David Sapp Massey (Meg); his grandchildren, Rebecca Gass Harte (Willie), Henry Markley Gass IV (Katie), James Allen Massey, Jr. (Martha), Mary Claire Massey, Emily Massey, Pont (Bennett) and Margaret Adelyn Massey (Steve); and his great grandchildren, Henry, Markley Harte, Eloise Massey, Libby and Pont.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Holly (133 S Main St, Mt Holly, NC 28120).
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Legacy Fund at First Presbyterian Church Mt Holly and to Davidson College.
