She was predeceased by: her parents, William Spears and Kate McElwaine Spears; her husband Ferroll "Bud" McKinney; and her siblings, Pat Hall, Donald Spears, Bud Spears, Jack Spears and Steve Spears.
She is survived by: her daughter Tammy Smith (Greg); her grandchildren, Mason Smith and Devin White (Chad); her sister Frances Spears; her sister-in-law Mary Ann Spears; and her sibling's children, Jeff Hall, John Hall (Debra), Donnie Spears, David Holcombe, Casey White, Sheila Diaz, Rebecca Neel, Stephanie Madden, Lynn Hartford and Carol Rickman.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation (2916 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Heart Society of Gaston County, 1201 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
