With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Oamie Horton of Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on April 8, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry Welch Parton and Bryte Mitchem Parton; her husband Paul Dean Horton; and her sister Thelma Wallace. She is survived by : her children, Teresa Christopher, Melinda Sue (Mark Mathis) and Bobby Dean Horton; her grandchildren, April Taylor, Joseph Willard, Brittany Barnes and Hayden Christopher; and her great grandchildren, Adam Queen, Damian Willard, Landen Taylor and Ava Barnes.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).
