He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard Hoover and Genevieve Hoover; his sisters, Cora Lee, Kathleen and Bridgette; and his niece Tonya.

He is survived by : his wife Emma; his children, Ricco Hoover (Michaela), Richard Jonas (Tesia) and Brittny Gould (Corey Demorier); and his siblings, Donald Hoover (Tammy), Patricia Randall (Charles) and Mike Purdy. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Greene Funeral Services - South Chapel (1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
