He is survived by: his wife Blanche Strain; his children, Curtis Strain of Gaffney, Willie Jr. (Stephine) of Charlotte, NC, Jeffrey (Amber) of Gastonia, NC, Jeremy (Tiffany) of Gastonia, NC, Sharon (Mark) of Lincolton, NC and Peggy Strain of Gastonia, NC; his siblings, Carl Hovis of Gastonia, NC, Sarah Davis (Richard) of Gastonia, NC, Elaine Adams (Walt) of Gastonia, NC and Margaret Hovis of Gastonia, NC; his sister-in-law Ora of Canton, OH; and his godchildren, Brenda Nash of Gastonia, NC, Nalita Collins of Gastonia, NC, Bobby Crawford of Gastonia, NC and Maurice Crawford of Myrtle Beach, SC.. He is also survived by twenty two grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
