He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Herbert Johnson and Phyllis Lorriane Vasser Johnson; and his brother William Herbert "Tom" Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Terylee Robertson Johnson; his children, Stephanie Johnson of Zuni and Sterling Johnson (Jamie) of Zuni; his siblings, Faye J. Vassiliou (Petros) of Virginia Beach and Floyd Wayne Johnson (Teresa) of Suffolk; and his siblings' children, Christina Ann Billings (Michael) of Ashboro, Rob Watson (Maegan) of Gates and Teresa Watson of Ashboro. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
