It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sherman Edward Lassiter (Gates, North Carolina), born in Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on September 22, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mildred Reid Lassiter and Sherman Lassiter; his wife Esther Lassiter; his children, Demetrice Lassiter Norment of Petersburg, VA, Andrea Walton Boyd (Travis) of Chesappeake, VA and A. J. Walton; and his siblings, Kasandra L. Goodman (Bobby) of Portsmouth, VA and Ellis Lassiter of Suffolk, VA. He was also cherished by six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Library in memory of Rev. Sherman Edward Lassiter.
