We are sad to announce that on April 19, 2021, at the age of 77, Mary Simpson Greene (Gatesville, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Marvin Gritman and Annie Lee Lassiter Simpson; her husband P. D. Greene, Jr.; her son-in-law Robert Johnson; and her brother Marvin "Buddy" Simpson.

She is survived by : her children, Janet Greene Askew (John) of Eure, Anita Greene Johnson of Virginia Beach and Percy Greene (Karen) of Eure; her sister Nancy Carter of Suffolk; her grandchildren, Ashley Stallings (Shelton), Leeza, Sarah Askew, Zachary, Lauren, Claire, Katherine Johnson, Adam Greene (Lindsey) and LeAnne Greene; and her great grandchildren, Abigail, Logan Stallings, Aubrey Lynne and James Winslow Greene.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Gates Volunteer Fire Dept., 49 Gates School Road, or to Reynoldson Baptist Church, 73 Reynoldson Road, both in Gates, NC 27937.
