She was predeceased by: her parents, David Samuel and Dorothy Watts Montgomery; her husband Richard Braxton Rutledge; her siblings, Joan White and Wayne Slate; and her sisters-in-law, Louise Shelton Montgomery and Cheryl Wagoner.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Braxton Rutledge (Traci) and Richard Anthony Rutledge (Donna); her grandchildren, Adam Rutledge (Kelly) and Emily Alderman (Jacob); her great grandchildren, Ila Rutledge and Sadie Alderman; her brothers, Don Montgomery (Susan) and Charles Montgomery (Gwen); her siblings-in-law, Jeanette Slate, Ann Fowler Montgomery, Jerry Rutledge (Yvonne) and Mickey Wagoner; and her close friends, Norene Brown and Dennis Slate, Sr..
