It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruben James Shaver of Gold Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on April 14, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Adam Franklin "Mack" Shaver and Lillie Mae Arey Shaver; his siblings, Calvin, Daniel, Frank, Edd, Irving, Raymond Shaver, Icy Ann Shaver and Mary Lou Drye; and his son-in-law Jack Smith.

He is survived by : his wife Ruth Pickler Shaver; his children, Ricky Shaver, Deborah Shaver Smith, Phyllis Shaver Kesler (Mitchell, Sr.), Sandy Shaver Honeycutt (Dale), Kim Shaver Heglar (Keith) and Karen Shaver Mayhew; his grandchildren, Mitchell Jacob "Jake" Kesler, Jr., Eric Honeycutt (Brandy), Kristen Honeycutt Sizemore (Tyler), Kody Heglar, Kayla Heglar, Ashley Mayhew Blalock (Collin), Hannah Mayhew and Landon Mayhew; and his great grandchildren, Mitchell Jacob "Trey" Kesler, III, Ezekiel Kesler, Heath Kesler, Weston Honeycutt, Clara Honeycutt and Alaina Blalock.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Powles Staton Funeral Home (913 W Main St, Rockwell, NC 28138). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Liberty Community Church (3940 Liberty Rd, Gold Hill, NC 28071).
