He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Gurley Lane; and his mother Matilda Lane McKeel. He is survived by: his children, Susan L. Parker (Richard) of Goldsboro and Everett Eugene Sasser (Karen) of Indiana; his grandchildren, Ashley Walker (Chris), Gene Sasser and Kevin Sasser; his great grandchildren, Riley and Mackenzie Walker; and his siblings, Helen Grady, Betty "Jackie" White, Jimmy McKeel, Douglas McKeel and Kaye Lewis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
