He was predeceased by: his siblings, Atlas Finch, Howard Finch, John Finch, Warren Finch, Raymond Finch and Irene Daniels.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Daniels Finch; his children, Warren Smith Finch (Fe), Teresa Finch Bolding and Edwin Lawrence Finch (Nora); his grandchildren, Paul Finch (Jennifer), Teresa Perera (Ian), Isa Woodall (Clay), Edwin Finch (Kelly), Rebecca Thomas (John), Robert Bolding (Angel), Jessica Bolding, Leah Finch and Leslie Finch; and his brother Harold Finch (Carolyn) of Fredericksburg, VA.. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Alton's memory to Aycock's Primitive Baptist Church, 810 Reidtown Road, Fremont, NC 27830.
