She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Sumler and Ola Inez Evans Sumler; her son James Glenn Parish III; and her siblings, James Sumler and Jeanette Kennedy.

She is survived by: her husband James G. Parish Jr.; her children, David Wayne Parish (Tammy) of Goldsboro, Daniel Kevin Parish (Sharon) of Faison, Linda Ann Howell-Stewart (Richard) of Asheville and Morgan Riley Holder (James); her brother Lamar Sumler of Georgia; her sister-in-law Katie Sumler of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Evan Howell (Rebecca), Christopher Howell, Adam Parish (Mary) and Jessica McLamb (Devin); and her great grandchildren, Zara Howell, Eli Parish and Brantley Carawan.
