He was predeceased by: his parents, Mosley Herring Kornegay and Dessie Hood Kornegay; his grandson Daniel Kornegay; and his great grandchild Legend Coley. He is survived by: his wife Donna Bryan Kornegay; his sons, Billy Mosley Kornegay II (Amy) and William Barry Kornegay (Constance); his grandchildren, Jonathan Kornegay (Leighanna), Joseph Kornegay, Caroline Kornegay, Abby Kornegay and Matthew Coley; his great grandchildren, Emma Kornegay, Mary Katherine Kornegay, Paisley Kornegay and Lilly Coley; his brothers, Bobby Rex Kornegay and Jerry Lee Kornegay (Mary); his stepgrandchildren, Daniel Boykin (Allyson), Rebecca Price (Dylan) and Rachel Eckert (Dillon); and his friend Sam Marroquen. He is also survived by three step great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Falling Creek Baptist Church (498 Falling Creek Church Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27530). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location.
