Carolyn S. Smith Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn S. Smith (Goldsboro, North Carolina), who passed away on November 12, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Smith and Mamie Smith; her husband John Walter Smith; her son Dwayne Alan Smith; her great grandchild Shawn Tate; and her siblings, Doris Davis, Malcolm Smith, Billy Ray Smith, Winston Smith and James Harold Smith.
She is survived by: her daughter Teresa Haithcock (Johnnie); her brother Grover Smith (Katherine); her grandchildren, Emily C. Gurley (Michael), Brian Corbett (Ashley), Kyle Corbett (Kelli), Dustin Smith (Brittany), Kelsey Fields and Hailey Fields; her great grandchildren, Izzie Corbett, Kendall Corbett, Max Tate, Saylor Corbett and Connor Smith; her stepgrandchildren, Chad Haithcock (Beth) and Meredith Fordham (Kyle); and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kolten Gurley, Hannah Fordham, Austin Haithcock and Avery Haithcock. She is also survived by friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to MUSC Children's Hospital Fund, 59 Bee Street, MSC 201, Charleston, SC 29425.
